Taken on December 9th after several days of temperatures ranging from about 15F overnight warming to maybe 35F for the highs have frozen the spray to the usually shaded rocks.

Holiday Lights

Whether you celebrate the season for its inherent beauty, or you project on it some religious significance, winter is indeed a special time of year. Festive decorations adorn many a house. At night, with snow blanketing eveything and reflecting the colored lights, this takes on a magical quality.

Good Morning, Redmond

A blanket of fresh snow covers Redmond, Washington in this pre-dawn shot. The shadows on the snow are cast by moonlight. The brightening of the sky is from the pre-dawn glow of the rising sun. Other glows are from artificial light sources. The slight star trail effect is due to the 60 second exposure time.
